Which Instagram stories can be saved?
Use a link in the form instagram.com/stories/username/story-id/. Story access is more restricted than public posts, and many stories require login even when the profile is public. This free version only checks anonymously accessible content. It cannot retrieve expired stories, private accounts, Close Friends stories or highlights.
- Use a direct /stories/username/story-id/ link. A username alone or a profile link does not identify one story.
- A public profile does not guarantee public story access. Many stories require login and will return an unavailable message.
- Expired stories, Close Friends content and highlights are not supported. Savepico does not ask for your Instagram password.

Why is a story unavailable on a public account?
Instagram can require a login for stories even when the profile is public. This version only checks anonymous access, so a valid public-profile story may still be unavailable.
Can I recover an expired Instagram story?
No. Savepico does not keep a story archive and cannot recover deleted or expired content. For your own stories, check the archive options inside your Instagram account.
How do I download from an Instagram link?
Open the post or Reel in Instagram, use Share → Copy link, then paste that link above. Savepico checks for publicly accessible media and displays a download button for each available photo or video.
Is Savepico free? Do I need an account?
Savepico is free to use. No Savepico account, Instagram password or browser extension is needed. Some Instagram content is unavailable without login; Savepico will tell you when it cannot access a link.
Does “original quality” mean the file before it was uploaded?
No. Instagram may resize or compress uploads. Savepico chooses the highest-resolution version Instagram makes available and does not re-encode it. It cannot recover the creator’s pre-upload original or promise 4K for every video.
Can I download every Instagram story?
No. Many stories require login, even on public profiles. Only stories that Instagram makes anonymously accessible can be retrieved. Expired, private and Close Friends stories are not supported.
Where does my download go?
Files usually appear in your browser’s Downloads folder. On iPhone or iPad, look in Files → Downloads, then use Share to save the photo or video to Photos. If a download link expires, paste the Instagram link again.
Why is a link unavailable?
The post may be private, deleted, expired, region-restricted or blocked for anonymous visitors. Instagram may also temporarily limit requests. Check the link in Instagram; if it is public and still live, try again later.
